President Republic of Indonesia Inaugurated "The Telkom Hub"

Jakarta, 1 November 2018 – President of Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo accompanied by Indonesian Minister of SOE, Rini M. Soemarno and President Director of PT. Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) Alex J. Sinaga inaugurated the newly Telkom Group office area, “The Telkom Hub" located in Jalan Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta, Thursday (1/11). The Inauguration of The Telkom Hub was also attended by Indonesian Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Head of the Creative Economy Agency (BEKRAF) Triawan Munaf, Indonesian Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya, and CEOs of SOE companies.
In his speech, President Joko Widodo stated that SOEs in Indonesia should always keep up with global trends and observe the development of digital technology. In addition, SOEs and other companies in Indonesia are expected to continue the innovations to stay ahead in the era of globalization. "At this moment there are only two choices, innovating or got left behind," said President Joko Widodo. The President hopes that the existence of The Telkom Hub can further support the development of digital technology in Indonesia.
The Telkom Hub consists of three main buildings, namely Graha Merah Putih, Telkom Landmark Tower and Telkomsel Smart Office. This area has 6 functions as its advantages, namely as the Development of Digital Innovation Culture, Infrastructure Management and Smart Services, Digital Entrepreneur Development Center, Social and Technology Education Center, Digital Customer Service Center and Smart Mosque.
These various advantages showcase The Telkom Hub as a Center of Excellence and the Source of Inspiration to build digital ecosystem in Indonesia. Besides that, the name of The Telkom Hub reflects the role of Telkom Indonesia as a global digital hub that connects Indonesia with Asia Pacific, Middle East and Europe through fiber optic sea cable infrastructure.
Meanwhile, President Director of Telkom Alex J. Sinaga said that as a SOE in a field of information and communication technology, Telkom with the vision of "Be the King of Digital in the Region", continues to build digital infrastructure throughout Indonesia and provide digital solution services to become driving force for the development of digital society and accelerating the development of Indonesia's digital economy.
"The existence of The Telkom Hub is expected to encourage TelkomGroup employees in developing their capabilities in a digital work culture while inspiring them to be innovative in Indonesia's digital development," said Alex J. Sinaga.
Along with the rapid development of digital technology, TelkomGroup is currently implementing digital workstyles such as paperless, wireless, seamless and riskless combined with the open space concept, thus encouraging employees to collaborate and share ideas to produce sustainable innovations and work more effectively and efficient.
Beside from being an office location, The Telkom Hub also own such infrastructures with aim to monitor TelkomGroup’s networks and services stretching from Sabang to Merauke and to another countries. The Telkom Hub is also equipped with TelkomGroup Integrated Operation Center (TIOC) and Telkomsel Network Operation Center (NOC). The two operation centers are supported by the latest platforms, applications, information systems, big data analytics and technological devices that are supported by the best TelkomGroup experts, so they can provide excellent service to customers.
The Telkom Hub has a center for developing digital entrepreneurs (digipreneur), known as the creative center "Jakarta Digital Valley". This facility is one form of TelkomGroup commitment in developing Indonesia’s digipreneur.
Another attraction called 'Telkom Digital Experience' is a place for social education and technology that is open to the public, so that people are given the opportunity to see, try and feel the application of future digital technology.
Some facilities in The Telkom Hub namely "GraPARI TelkomGroup" as TelkomGroup’s Digital Customer Service Center, Smart Mosque’s "Al-Istiqomah" that equipped with digital technology of information applications and mosque activities, provides Digital Library for fiqih and sunnahbooks, dakwah live streaming and infaqnon-cash via T-Cash or T -Money.
Workshop with 3500 of Millennials
Along with the inauguration of The Telkom Hub, President Joko Widodo with Indonesian Minister of SOE, Rini Soemarno had a closed panel with 3500 millennials from other SOE in Indonesia in a "Millennial Forum" at the Telkom Landmark Tower Auditorium and Vertical Garden.
While attending the Millennial Forum, President Joko Widodo advised all millennials to continue to keep using digital technology include social media positively. "Use the social media wisely, stop spreading hate, malice, and especially hoaxes. Be a smart young generation with global mindset, " the President ordered.
"We realize that Millennial is an important asset for SOEs to face the challenges in digital era while filling the industrial revolution era 4.0 therefore we encourage all SOEs to take initiatives and innovations to maximize the participation of millennials in SOEs for the development of the company and the future of SOE, " Alex J. Sinaga said.
