IRU Services
IRU or Indefeasible of a portion of the capacity of an international cable Right of Use is a form of an effective long-term lease (temporary ownership). IRU’s are specified in terms of a certain number of channels of a given bandwidth. IRU legal agreements forbid resale of the capacity ownership. For at least one major international cable owner, an IRU ownership period is granted for 15 years.
Benefits:
- One time payment for a long time period.
- Exclusive, unrestricted and indefeasible right to use the relevant capacity (including equipment, fibers or capacity) for any legal purposes.
